Next Generation 911 will revolutionize how the public accesses emergency services and will alter the technological landscape within which existing public safety agencies operate.  The principal objective of this project is to facilitate the development and implementation of a Geographic Information systems (GIS)-based Next Generation 911 (NG911) system for a multi-county area of Southern Illinois represented by the “Counties of Southern Illinois” LLC. The primary project goals include mapping of relevant geospatial data layers required by and based on National Emergency Number Association (NENA) standard data formats, as well as conducting data quality control and standardization, and providing standardized spatial datasets for NG911 to relevant stakeholders.
